Steven Baker had a routine MRI at St. Luke’s Hospital. Emma from Imaging Services performed his MRI. Baker states, “he surely wasn’t her easiest patient that day.”
Baker writes that he has diabetes and neuropathy in his lower extremities, which makes it difficult to remain still which is necessary with an MRI. He praises Emma, "Emma was patient and professional, even though I was impatient and in pain. Somehow we both made it through the ordeal.”
After his MRI visit, Baker woke up the next morning, missing his wedding band. He immediately knew he had left it in the MRI unit's locker in the basket. You can not wear any metal into the MRI machine so he had removed it and put it in the basket in the locker. He forgot it when he left for home.
He tried hard to not stop breathing when he discovered his mistake and immediately called the MRI number, recieved voice mail and left a message saying he’d be right there when they opened at 6:30 am. Upon arrival, Emma was there with a smile and Steven’s wedding band. He writes, “This young woman, whom I secretly cursed under my breath for my pain during my MRI, had my most precious wedding band in her hands. I write this note of thanks to St. Luke\'s Hospital, so any and every one will recognize the great and humane and professional employee they have in Ms. Emma of the MRI staff. She went above & beyond her duties. I appreciate her and want you to know she is amazing!”
