Skin Cancer 101
Tuesday, May 8 - 6:30 p.m. program (one hour)

One in five Americans will develop skin cancer; it is the most common form of cancer in the US. Each year there are more new cases of skin cancer than those of the breast, prostate, lung and colon combined. Fortunately, it is also the easiest to cure if diagnosed and treated early. Attend to learn more about prevention and early detection.

 

High Blood Pressure
DAYTIME SESSION ONLY: Friday, May 18 - 1:00 p.m. (one hour)

Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is quite common among Americans of all ages and levels of fitness. There may be no obvious symptoms, but left untreated, hypertension can significantly increase chances of stroke or heart attack.  Be sure to get regular blood pressure checks, and plan to attend this program to learn more about high blood pressure - including risk factors, diagnosis, treatment, and tips for managing chronic hypertension.

 

Travel Health

International travel is easier than ever and provides relaxation, adventure, and enjoyment!  However, leaving the country does present some health risks, which you can minimize. Attend this community program, to learn about things you can do before and during your trip to ensure safe and healthy travels abroad!

Talking Cancer with the Voice of the Hawkeyes

Gary Dolphin, the play-by-play broadcaster for Hawkeyes football and basketball, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in the summer of 2011. He will share the story of his battle with the disease, and why he urges all men to be vigilant about their health - especially prostate cancer screening.  Dr. Jonathan Rippentrop, PCI Urology, will explain about PSA testing, symptoms and treatment options.
