Physical & Occupational Therapy

Work-related injuries require special rehabilitation to get employees back to work as quickly and safely as possible. Our Therapy Plus staff specializes in rehabilitating injuries that happen at work.

Our emphasis is on educating our patients about proper body mechanics and ergonomics. This is done through physical therapy and a work simulation area where patients can practice the activities they will do after returning to work.

In addition to helping individuals get back to work, Therapy Plus also offers a number of services for local businesses:

  • Ergonomic job site analysis - an onsite evaluation of a work station with recommendations for changes to decrease the risk for injury and promote safety.

  • Functional capacity evaluations - determines a worker's ability to do work-related tasks such as push, pull, lift, carry or climb. If job specific the evaluation will determine the return-to-work readiness.

  • Pre-employment/post offer screens - a brief evaluation of a prospective employee's ability to perform essential physical job functions such as lifting or carrying. This screen is performed during the Work Well physical.

  • Educational programs - topics include: proper body mechanics and prevention of low back pain, general ergonomics, office ergonomics for the computer workstation, prevention of cumulative trauma disorders and onsite exercise and stretching programs.
