Broadcast pioneer, community leader and philanthropist William Quarton left St. Luke’s Health Care Foundation a major gift in his estate.
Quarton, who died August 19, left St. Luke’s Health Care Foundation $260,000. The gift will create a named, unrestricted endowment in Quarton’s memory.
Quarton was a board member at St. Luke’s Hospital for 26 years, starting in 1951. His contribution to St. Luke’s is in recognition of those 26 years of service, his gift reflects $10,000 for each of those years.
“Mr. Quarton’s generous gift will impact St. Luke’s, its patients and families in perpetuity,” said Shannon Duval, St. Luke’s Health Care Foundation president. “We remain grateful for Mr. Quarton’s leadership and service, and most recently, for his generous bequest.”
