For the first time in St. Luke’s 30 year history of being accredited by CARF, the Rehabilitation Commission, St. Luke’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is now also a brain injury accredited program.

“Our decision to pursue this additional accreditation is in recognition of the growing brain injury population that we serve,” said Craig Dove, DO, St. Luke’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation medical director. “In addition, accreditation was again awarded for our comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation and stroke specialty programs as well. Services we provide for adolescents have also been recognized as a part of this formal survey. We are extremely proud of our ongoing accomplishments in inpatient rehabilitation.”

“A three-year accreditation from CARF represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization,” said Joe Linn, St. Luke’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation director. “We see these achievements as an indication of our dedication and commitment to improving the quality of life for our patients.”

These accreditation outcomes show an organizations substantial conformance to the standards established by CARF. An organization receiving a three-year accreditation outcome has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during on an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable and accountable.

St. Luke’s CARF accreditations extend through January 2012.
