St. Luke’s hosting community program on H1N1

October 5, 2009

The first shipment of H1N1 vaccine is expected to be available to a limited number of people across the county starting next week. And yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) urged pregnant women to get the seasonal flu and H1N1 vaccine after announcing there have been 100 pregnant women admitted to intensive care units and 28 pregnant women who have died from 2009 H1N1.

To educate the public and answer questions, St. Luke’s Hospital is hosting a FREE community program on H1N1 on October 20, 2009. Ryan Sundermann, MD, St. Luke’s Emergency Department medical director and Julie Sturbaum, RN, St. Luke’s Infection Control manager will provide a general overview and all the latest information and updates on H1N1 influenza.
