St. Luke’s Hospital has a new tool for surgeons to help deliver safer, less invasive surgery. St. Luke’s recently acquired VectorVision flex, a powerful computer-assisted surgery (CAS) system featuring Digital Lightbox with TraumaCad, which is a Web-based pre-operative planning and digital software solution. St. Luke’s is the first in North America to acquire this technology.
VectorVision flex integrates advanced tracking software, which allows surgeons to perform highly precise orthopaedic procedures. It is equipped with Digital Lightbox, an interactive multi-touch viewing platform. Combined with TramaCad, Digital Lightbox allows surgeons to more precisely predict operative needs and challenges and the ability to update surgical plans during surgical procedures.
VectorVision flex displays 3D representations of the patient’s anatomy allowing surgeons to visualize and track instrument positioning for more precise and less-invasive surgery. Digital Lightbox offers data enrichment features that allow physicians to customize surgical plans to better leverage information for more informed decision-making.
With the adoption of digital imaging technologies for x-rays, TraumaCad enables surgeons to digitally plan their surgeries from any location, with seamless access to all necessary x-rays and advanced planning resources. This system provides a full suite of software tools for orthopaedic procedures, including joint-replacement planning, deformity-correction and trauma surgery planning, supports the potential for greater surgical accuracy.
