Walk planned to raise child abuse awareness

St. Luke’s Child Protection Center (CPC) is raising awareness for child abuse in Iowa with an upcoming walk. The first annual Champion4Children Walk on May 15 will include a .8 mile walk and a short awareness kickoff.

Last year, Iowa’s Child Protection Centers provided support and services for more than 3,000 children. Each year, St. Luke’s Child Protection Center cares for over 1,000 of Eastern Iowa’s children. Statistics indicate that one in four girls and one in five boys will be abused before they turn 18.
