Area hospitals team up to offer Health Care Reform information for employers

Mercy Medical Center and St. Luke’s Hospital are offering a Webinar to help employers navigate through Health Care Reform and understand the effects on their health plans. Issues to be discussed:

  • Grandfathered plans – Plans in effect as of March 23 are not subject to some of the changes under Health Care Reform. We will review the scope and issues related to such plans.

  • Collectively bargained agreements – Health Care Reform provides for a delayed effective date for collectively bargained plans, but the statue is less than clear on how this works and informal comments from the Department of Labor have created confusion about when employers have to modify health benefits provided to employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

  • Coverage of adult children through age 26.
    2010 and 2011 changes.
