Your gift of blood makes the difference in the lives of eastern Iowans. When you take the time to donate blood to St. Luke’s, we make sure it's put to the ultimate good use - right here in our community.
At St. Luke's, Blood Donor Services oversees the ongoing and vital task of collecting blood from volunteer donors to meet the needs of patients at our hospital and at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa. Your blood could be used for trauma and surgical patients, as well as for those receiving treatment for cancer, hemophilia and other serious diseases.
-If you'd like to donate blood, please call 319/369-7315 and make an appointment. Blood Donor Services is located on the west side/lower level of St. Luke's, directly below the Emergency Department.
-At various times during the year, we also conduct blood drives in Linn, Benton, Jones and Cedar counties. If you'd like more information about our next blood drive, or are interested in hosting your own, call 319/369-7315.
In return for donating blood, you'll get a "mini-physical" and free cholesterol reading each time you donate. Best of all, you get the satisfaction of knowing your contribution helped someone in need.
Before you make the decision to donate blood, please take a few moments to review the following information: requirements for donating blood and disqualifications from donating blood.
