Continuing Care Hospital at St. Luke's is Iowa's first hospital within a hospital that provides care for patients who require, on average, a length of stay of 25 days or more. The hospital is designed specifically for the medically complex patient who needs additional time to fully recover. The Continuing Care Hospital cares for patients with the following needs or conditions:

  • Long-term IV therapy
  • Infectious diseases
  • Multi-system failure
  • Heart disease
  • Sepsis
  • Cancer
  • Neurological conditions
  • Renal disorders
  • Nutritional impairment
  • Congestive heart failure
