Diabetes Programs

Diabetes educational programs help you learn how to manage your diabetes and how to make the most of your life. Our programs include:

Pre-Diabetes

Research shows that when blood glucose levels are managed in the pre-diabetes stage, type 2 diabetes may be delayed or prevented. These sessions focus on the benefits of good nutrition and physical activity, importance of blood glucose tests and answers to commonly asked questions.

Insulin Pump Consultation/Initiation

This program is provided in a series of individual appointments to begin use of an insulin pump. A full consultative service is offered for those persons who are already using an insulin pump and require a pump upgrade or have a need to update their skills.

Type 2 Diabetes Basics

Multiple sessions are available for individuals with type 2 diabetes, who are not using insulin. Sessions include information on healthy eating, benefits of physical activity, diabetes medications and home blood glucose monitoring.

Gestational Diabetes Management

A special program for women during their pregnancy focuses on proper nutrition, blood sugar monitoring and successful pump use needed to support healthy babies.

Insulin Starts/Insulin Adjustments

This is a program for individuals with type 1 or type 2 diabetes requiring insulin therapy. Multiple sessions provide information from beginning to advanced self-management level practices.

Pediatric Services

A program provided in a series of individual appointments for children with type 1 or type 2 diabetes and their families. Information is provided on varying levels from beginning to advanced self-management skills.

Annual Review

These sessions review and update your diabetes self-management skills on a yearly basis.
