Are you looking for a way to give back? Do you have a need for a little something more in your life… something that can provide a strong sense of fulfillment? Consider volunteering for St. Luke’s Hospice.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of St. Luke’s Hospice. They are an essential piece in bringing the highest quality of care and comfort to our patients and families, providing compassion and companionship.
Below you will find all the ways you can give back through St. Luke’s Hospice and make a difference in many people’s lives. We truly treasure all of the volunteers who walk through our door and know that without them, St. Luke’s Hospice can’t do what we does best… provide hope, dignity and comfort through life’s final journey.
As a patient and family support volunteer, you are simply a friend. You may read, play cards, write a letter or just have a conversation. Patient and family volunteers typically give two to four hours a month.
As a respite care volunteer, you stay with the patient to allow caregivers or loved ones the time to take care of themselves. This may be time to get a haircut, go to the grocery store or even a day-long outing with friends.
As an 11th Hour Companion, you comfort patients in their last hours by taking shifts around the clock, sitting by their side. This presence ensures they are not alone or provides a reassuring presence to loved ones.

As a bereavement support volunteer, you assist with our 13-month follow up program. The volunteer makes supportive calls and visits with family members. Even better, as a bereavement caller – you can work in the comfort of your own home!
As an administrative support volunteer, you work “behind the scenes”. You will support the organization by assisting with mailings, filing and other clerical tasks and special projects.
As a community awareness volunteer, you assist with promotions and fundraising. Activities include Camp Embracing Memories, health fairs and public speaking engagements.
