St. Luke's ER is ready for anything, even if you're not. Expect speedy treatment from the area's most experience ER team, whether you're experiencing a catastrophic injury or illness or scraped knees and sore throats.
As the second busiest ER in the state, we treat over 50,000 patients a year, and each month answer about 600 ambulance calls. Our larger, renovated space was designed for easier access and faster service and includes 34 private patient rooms.
Our ER staff includes doctors trained in emergency medicine and specially trained registered nurses and emergency medical technicians. St. Luke's and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics partner to offer the state's only emergency medicine residency program, which is based at St. Luke's.
St. Luke's ER is also home to Lifeguard Air Ambulance. The blue helicopter has been a familiar sight in the skies around Cedar Rapids since 1981, and today flies an average of 30 transports each month.
