At St. Luke's, we don't just care for our patients, we care about you. You're not alone on the road to recovery. When you’re a patient at St. Luke’s, there’s an entire team of doctors, nurses, therapists, dieticians, and exercise specialists dedicated to helping you succeed. At every stage of your recovery, we're here to help you heal faster and feel better.
Located on the third floor of our world-class Nassif Heart Center, the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center has a full-sized walking track and specialized exercise equipment. There, you'll receive guidance and support from the center's staff as you build strength and stamina.
For many, recovery involves changes to diet and exercise. We know this can be a challenge. That's why we provide education and advice on making smart food choices. We'll even give you suggestions for heart healthy recipes to try at home. Additionally, a custom exercise program is developed for each patient. Our experts tailor their advice for your lifestyle giving you the best tools to succeed.
A few days after going home, patients come back to St. Luke's for our unique cardiac rehab classes. Held two to three times a week for four to six weeks, participation has been shown to help patients successfully heal emotionally and physically. Classes give patients support and education needed to maintain an exercise program on their own.
Learning to live with a chronic condition, including heart disease, can be challenging. St. Luke's offers a workshop - Living Well with a Chronic Condition - that provides you the tools needed to live successfully with your condition.
