Coming to the Hospital

Our goal is to help your child and your family feel prepared and comfortable during your child's hospital stay. We suggest the following tips to help you prepare for your visit:

Talk to your child's doctor

If you know in advance your child will be staying at St. Luke's, talk with your child's doctor about what to expect before, during and after your visit. They can help you prepare your child for the experience and answer any questions you might have. If you need further assistance, contact us at 319/369-6800.

Call your insurance provider

Contact your insurance provider to confirm the details of your coverage. St. Luke's also has a dedicated team of financial counselors to answer your questions. If you have questions about the cost of your child's procedure or stay, contact them via e-mail or at 319/369-7513.

Arrange transportation

Make sure you have driving and parking directions for the Center for Women's and Children's Health. View map.

Follow your doctor's instructions

You may receive specific instructions about how to prepare for your child's visit. These may include information about giving medications. If you have not received these instructions, contact your doctor's office.

Making your hospital stay as comfortable as possible

We have many amenities beyond what's available at the Center for Women's and Children's Health.

If you have any other questions about your child's upcoming stay at St. Luke's, please contact us at 319/369-6800.
