Dedicated to caring for children in the hospital, 24/7. Our team works with your child's doctor to keep them informed of the child's condition during their hospital stay.
Hospital Services for Children
Our highly skilled staff of pediatric hospitalists, nurses, residents, dieticians and therapists work together to closely monitor your child's condition, whether your stay is in St. Luke's Pediatric Unit or your child needs the special care of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Pediatric Unit
Infants and children with illnesses or injuries ranging from the routine to more serious stay on the Pediatric Unit.
- Private rooms feature a range of age-appropriate activities, from crib toys to TV, video games and movies.
- A built-in daybed, private shower and bathroom give rooms a pleasant, home-like setting for children and families.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
On the PICU, severely ill or injured infants and children receive specialized, 24-hour monitoring and treatment from highly trained staff. For your convenience while staying with your child on the PICU, we offer the follow amenieties:
- A kitchenette
- Waiting room
- Lounge
- Private bathroom
Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
St. Luke's has been caring for newborns for more than 30 years. We are the only NICU to have providers in the hospital around the clock. Our staff, lead by skilled neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners is the most experienced NICU team in Cedar Rapids.
- Our NICU suites are designed to help premature babies grow and develop.
