Pediatric Cardiology

Our practice is exclusively geared towards caring for the heart health of infants, children and adolescents. Our exam rooms are kid-friendly and our experienced staff provide the highest level of care for your child and address your concerns as a parent. We're dedicated to your child’s heart health, future well-being and supporting your family.

Tips to make appointments go smoothly

If your child is scheduled to have an echocardiogram (echo) before your office visit, please:

  • Bring your child's favorite DVD. We'll play it during the exam to help your child feel comfortable.
  • For infants and toddlers, please avoid having them nap before the exam. Sleepy children often sleep through testing.
  • Try to avoid bottle feeding infants before testing so your baby can be fed during the exam to keep occupied.
  • Please do not schedule your child's immunizations for the same day as the echocardiogram. Children often don't feel well following injections and it can make testing difficult.

For all appointments where a chest x-ray is needed, it must be completed two days before the scheduled appointment. Bring the x-ray film(s) with you to your child's appointment.

If you are unable to get the chest x-ray completed two days prior to the appointment, please call 319/368-5757 to reschedule your appointment. We cannot see your child without access to a completed chest x-ray film.

To make the best use of your time when you are here, please consider the following policies:

  • We ask you not to bring more than two adults to your child's visit.
  • If someone beside's your child's biological parent will be accompanying him or her, we require authorization from the parent(s) or proof of guardianship at the time of the appointment.
  • Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

You will receive a reminder phone call the day before your scheduled appointment. We look forward to meeting you and your child!
