after a spinal cord injury. Read Deb's story

Some conditions, such as a stroke or a spinal cord injury, require a hospital stay and acute inpatient rehabilitation. Our team of experts use a wide range of therapies, counseling, support groups and education as part of an individualized plan of care.
Our inpatient rehabilitation is accredited by CARF, the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission. This means that St. Luke's has passed an in-depth review of its services and meets nationally and internationally recognized service and quality standards.
Learn more about our commitment to excellence by reading our Outcomes Report from 2011.
Watch a patient's story about her experience with inpatient and outpatient rehab.
Once a patient returns home, outpatient physical, occupational or speech-language therapy may be needed to continue their rehabilitation.
Our outpatient rehabilitation therapists work to improve patients' quality of life by increasing the ability of adults and adolescents to do everyday tasks. Our experienced therapists provide eastern Iowa's most comprehensive array of rehabilitation services.
Psychology can not offer a cure for a physical illness, but therapies can help improve quality of life despite an illness or condition. In addition to counseling, we also provide pain management psychotherapy, dementia vs. depression screening, intelligence and memory testing, cancer survivorship and other treatments.
After a brain injury or illness, our neuropsychologists can evaluate the impact on a patient's brain to identify the best treatment options.
