Committed to bringing Eastern Iowan's the best surgical experience, St. Luke's invested in the newest robotic technology available. In early 2010, St. Luke's replaced our Standard da Vinci surgical robot and da Vinci S with new da Vinci® Si robots and one dual console.
The da Vinci Si has modified instruments that allow for greater range with larger and heavier patients and an enhanced viewing area for the surgeon, which is 20 percent larger and offers a high definition, 3D picture and side-by-side comparison screens. The most significant feature of the newest robotic system is the dual consol capability, which allows another physician to see and access the same screens and controls as the primary surgeon. St. Luke's is currently the only hospital in the state to own two da Vinci Si surgical robots and a dual console. Learn more about the da Vinci Si robot.
Since bringing the da Vinci Robotic System to St. Luke's, we've performed more than 2,050 robotic surgeries, more than any other hospital in Iowa. Learn more about how robotic surgery works and its benefits to patients, offering less pain and faster recovery times.
