Hormone Restoration Therapy
Hormone restoration therapy is the name given to the hormones prescribed for menopausal symptoms. Our goal is to only restore what is missing, using medications and hormones at the lowest dose necessary for the shortest period of time.
Your individual treatment is determined from the results of testing and an assessment of your individual symptoms. Hormones are prescribed based on your specific needs. Some women may only need a vitamin supplement, while others may respond best to hormone restoration. Each dose is individualized to restore a woman's "hormonal balance."
Adrenal Fatigue
Women today live at an incredibly fast-paced, stressful pace. This constant high level of stress in our lives can lead to real, physical symptoms - pain, sleeplessness, weight gain and just feeling rundown. These symptoms are often due to a condition called adrenal fatigue. Adrenal fatigue is caused by constant stress in a woman's life, which throws off the hormonal balance in your body, causing these symptoms.
Midlife Care for Women can determine if your symptoms may be attributed to adrenal fatigue. Since each woman is different, testing and symptom assessment help determine which treatment solution is best for you. Often, our recommendations include diet and exercise changes, supplements and sometimes hormone restoration.
Incontinence
Have you ever leaked urine when you laugh, cough or sneeze? Do you ever feel like you have to "go" even though you just went to the bathroom? If so, you may be one of the 13 million Americans, mostly women after childbirth, who suffer from incontinence.
The good news is that incontinence is treatable and it isn't something you have to live with.
St. Luke's Midlife Care for Women provides incontinence/pelvic floor consultation with urologists from Physicians' Clinic of Iowa, P.C., urodynamic testing and physical therapy - all in the privacy of a women's-only clinic.
