School of Radiologic Technology
Both St. Luke's Hospital and Mercy Medical Center established schools of radiologic technology in the late 1940s. In an effort to increase efficiency and hold down the costs of tuition, the two hospitals combined the programs in 1981.
The Mercy/St. Luke's School of Radiologic Technology became the first consolidated program recognized by the American Medical Association. It has also served as the model for many other mergers of hospital-based programs.
